Tools

Overview

The tools Studio is allowed to depend on, and the ones it only documents.

Last updated:

The production path uses tools the worker can run. A recommendation list is not a dependency.

On the render path#

ToolJob
Language modelScript, shot list, composition code
Remotion or HyperFramesFrame rendering
FFmpegEncode, concat, captions, loudness
WhisperWord times when a voice track exists

Voice synthesis and stock footage are optional steps. The first milestone can render a silent motion cut with no third-party media.

Documented, not required#

docs/recommend-tools.md is a translated catalog of editing, voice, and research tools. Many of those products are hosted and closed. Studio does not call them unless a later phase names an adapter and a key.

docs/video-studio-kit.md is the translated studio kit: reference libraries for picture, and the local tools the skill packs already assume (FFmpeg, Whisper, DeepFilterNet, GSAP, headless Chrome).

Open source first#

When two tools do the same step, the worker prefers the one with a permissive license and a local run. See Models and the research notes in docs/web-research.md.
